Job Description Summary

We're looking for PhD or MS students who are active in AI/ML areas and are passionate about developing next generation AI technologies that will have profound impact on medicine and healthcare. You will be working with top researchers, AI scientists, AI engineers and domain experts in the field of AI for health to develop new deep learning (e.g., vision foundational models, large language model) solutions and to prepare research publications for leading AI venues. During recent years, our researchers have published on leading AI venues including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, KDD, CVPR, EMNLP, ACL, etc. Our ambitious AI for medicine and healthcare research agenda include but are not limited to: - Medical imaging foundation models across diverse imaging types, diseases, organs, etc.- Multimodal medical imaging analysis and report generation- LLMs for clinical efficiencies- Multimodal phenotyping for accurate disease diagnosis, subtyping, and progression modeling, as well as patient retrieval, trial matching, and health monitoring- Responsible AI (e.g., interpretable models, trustworthiness, fairness, etc)- Multimodal EMR generation At GE HealthCare, we are committed to bringing AI and cloud-based solutions for our customers: all aspects of intelligent computing services across the cloud and. Job Description

Internship Highlights:

Assist in developing cutting-edge machine learning models, particularly focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs), to streamline clinical operations using diverse data sources like medical images, electronic health records, patient waveforms, and clinical documentation.
Participate in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of algorithms across varied patient demographics, involving statistical analysis and error assessment.
Help build and refine prototypes, gaining insights into transforming them into scalable, efficient code for real-world applications.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI algorithms and technologies.
Contribute to the development of adaptable software and data systems, which emphasize modular components for use across various teams and projects.

Basic Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a keen interest in machine learning and AI.
Familiarity with core areas of computer science such as Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning.
Basic knowledge of programming in languages like Python, Java, C/C++, etc.
Eagerness to learn about deploying applications in production environments and understanding operational best practices.
An interest in working with complex, real-world medical and patient data.
Curiosity and a willingness to learn about large-scale data processing, AI model training, and related techniques.

About Team

GE Healthcare teams are based in the US (San Ramon, Seattle), France, Israel (Tel Aviv), and India (Bangalore). This gives us several core overlap hours for shared meetings.

The pay rate for this position is $45-60/hr.
