Senior Solutions Architect (Remote)

Amentum is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our team who is focused on enhancing our next generation technology capabilities and growing our business. Must possess the ability to make an immediate and positive impact and deliver value to our organization by displaying behavior consistent with Amentum values.  This is a remote position serving initiatives and projects nationally.  This is a remote position that can sit in any US city.

• Lead the technical architecture and development of enterprise IT and Network solutions, which will i) integrate existing, geographically distributed technology lab infrastructure, and ii) provide a flexible and scalable cloud-based, software defined networking (SDN) controlled environment within which to design, develop, prototype, demonstrate and deploy solutions for Amentum customers across all lines of business
• Lead the technical architecture and development lifecycle for new technologies, e.g. AI, Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial IoT-enabled solutions that support the delivery of better client business outcomes
• Lead the development of roadmaps for future capability and solution development based on input from, and close coordination with, Amentum internal business area and functional leads, key customers, partners, and third party industry and technology sources
• Support the development of managed services offerings around developed capabilities and solutions (Solutions as a Service) 
• Consult with IT team members and customers on best practices and optimized application development and deployment models within cloud-hosted (public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments) and SDN-managed environments
• Is the subject matter expert and key advisor to Center of Excellence (CoE) leadership on all CoE labs inter-connectivity, AI application, IoT/IIoT and related technology matters
• Build and maintain strong relations with our customers
• Represents Amentum within industry through participation in key industry events and communication forums
• Networking and SDN experience and capability are critical components of this position, as is experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), and complex IoT/IIoT environments

Qualifications - External

BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university and/or relevant/specialized experience in IT operations and/or deployment experience in an enterprise environment.  

Candidates should have demonstrated understanding and capabilities with deployment of cloud technologies, SDN/network architecture, AI platforms/applications, IoT/IIoT (sensor technology and integration), data science/analytics to develop and deploy analytics applications, business continuity design requirements, network security, compute virtualization.

Must be able to work for any US Employer without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Prior experience supporting the following:

• Large, complex workload requiring coordination of multiple resources, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Evaluating challenging problems and developing creative solutions
• Working with senior levels of customer engagement (technical and management)
• Public and/or private Cloud environment, Big Data, AI platform/applications, and IoT/IIoT protocol/strategy competency
• Mentoring or training team members and sharing expertise within and across contract, organization boundaries and with customers
• Several enabling IoT/IIoT technology areas, to include embedded systems, network topologies, transport protocols, cloud computing, stream processing, data management, data analytics, security, identity management, industrial control systems, and application development (i.e programming and scripting languages such as Java, J2EE, Python, Perl, etc.).

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting to 20 pounds.  Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same.
