Responsibilities
- Drive architectural decisions and technology choices that align with business objectives and scalability requirements
- Lead and mentor a distributed global team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and development processes
- Drive career development through regular coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities for team members
- Partner with Business leads to understand and address evolving data governance and privacy requirements
- Work closely with Product Management to define and execute the product roadmap
- Drive adoption and implementation of LLM-powered tools for automated data classification, PII detection, and compliance monitoring and automated data governance workflows
- Establish governance frameworks and best practices for responsible AI/LLM usage within data platforms
- Implement and track engineering metrics to measure team health, productivity, and system performance
- Utilize data-driven decision making across technical initiatives and team processes
- Manage project planning, resource allocation, and cross-team dependencies
- Champion initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve system reliability
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
- Represent the team in technical steering committees and architecture reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in engineering management
- Strong technical background in data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud architecture
- Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams across multiple locations
- Track record of delivering large-scale data infrastructure projects
- Deep understanding of data governance, privacy and compliance requirements
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and their data services
- Experience with modern data stack including data warehousing, lakes, and processing frameworks
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Familiarity with data quality tools, metadata management, and observability systems
- Excellence in people management, mentoring, and career development
- Ability to influence and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders
- Experience with agile methodologies and modern software development practices
- AWS Certifications preferred
