We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our Infrastructure team. This role involves managing large-scale, multi-terabyte databases across technologies such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Elasticsearch. You’ll play a key role in designing, scaling, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable and secure database solutions on AWS.
Install, configure, and maintain databases like PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Elasticsearch.
Monitor and optimize database performance, indexing, query tuning, and configurations.
Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery through regular backups and replication strategies.
Assist in schema design, capacity planning, and application deployment support.
Develop monitoring tools and implement alert systems for database health and uptime.
Maintain documentation for best practices, procedures, and incident response.
Stay current with trends in database technologies and recommend improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) databases.
Strong understanding of database fundamentals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in Linux system administration and working with the command line.
Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar languages.
Solid communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Exposure to AWS database services such as RDS, DynamoDB, etc.
Familiarity with data warehouse platforms like Snowflake or Redshift.
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
Understanding of Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
