The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Technician 2 to work under the direction of Dr. Zhiqiang Lin. This position supports the investigation of confidential computing, in support of distributed machine learning and inference. A successful candidate will have a general understanding of distributed computing, trusted execution environment (TEE) such as NVIDIA H100 and Intel TDX, Python/C/C++, containers, familiarity with IoT and network protocol. The position relies on guidance from the supervisor for executing the related engineering tasks and solving complex problems, while independently handling straightforward tasks.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 1 year of relevant experience with C/C++ (to understand the corresponding code); advanced understanding of confidential computing (TEEs), distributed software systems, including Kubernetes, docker swarm, and AI model partitioning and inferences.
Desired: 2 years of experience programming with C/C++ or relevant experience required; advanced understanding of confidential computing (e.g., SGX, TDX, H100) and distributed computing, including Kubernetes, docker swarm, and AI model partitioning and inference; demonstrate skills with back-end software stack for IoTs.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $15.70 - $20.67 per hour, paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
