This role bridges scientific research and real-world impact across sectors like insurance, supply chain, and energy.
We envision a a world where remote and underserved communities can flourish, regardless of extreme weather challenges. To realize this, our work is built around three pillars:
Data: Develop cutting-edge AI/ML models optimized for data-scarce regions, with a focus on leveraging geospatial and remote sensing technologies
Methods: Develop scalable AI/ML approaches, such as science foundation models, for multi-hazard prediction and risk reduction.
Stakeholders: Deliver actionable, impact-driven tools for humanitarian efforts, insurers, and supply chain managers.
You will lead projects that fuse AI, Earth observations, and geospatial modeling, working across research, prototype development, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in machine learning, hydrology, remote sensing, geosciences, or related fields
Strong publication record in climate-related AI or hazard modeling
Proficiency in ML frameworks, geospatial tools, and cloud platforms
Experience with precipitation datasets or hydrologic forecasting
Preferred Experience:
Foundation models or physics-informed ML for Earth systems
Interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement
