This is an exciting new role within the System Technology and Adaptive Intelligence (STAI) team in Gas Power Engineering (GPE), whose organizational vision is to create “An artificial intelligence enhanced electric power & CO2 focused innovation team that supports and incubates new ventures and ideas through diligent engineering to provide cleaner, more flexible power to the world.”We are seeking a skilled and experienced Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy Program Manager to join our Engineering AI Team. This strategic role involves leading the strategy and implementation of AI initiatives across Gas Power Engineering. In this role the you will utilize expertise in both technology and business processes to develop and oversee a multi-generational AI program roadmap aligned with business priorities. Responsibilities include implementing the roadmap using SAFE Agile principles to accelerate business value realization and ensuring customer success through continuous improvement of AI programs. This position requires collaboration with senior leadership, engineering stakeholders, data scientists, and Agile AI delivery teams to drive innovation and efficiency in achieving business outcomes using AI technology. It offers an opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, enhancing our enterprise AI capabilities in Gas Power Engineering.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with functional subject matter experts and senior leaders within Gas Power to build the strategic vision, objectives and multi-generational program roadmap for AI initiatives aligned with organizational strategic goals and Hoshin
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI integration and innovation. Lead the discovery and qualification of AI use-case ideas and unifying connected ideas within a value stream as part of building its AI roadmap
- Lead the planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of AI projects, aligned with SAFE Agile principles, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes
- Own technical requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ML/AI strategy and implementation to ensure timely problem solving and delivery of agreed to outcomes and objectives with a Lean Plan, Do, Check, Act mindset
- Team Leadership, Collaboration, & Managing Stakeholder Expectations:
- Oversee execution across cross-functional agile teams comprising data scientists, software engineers, architects, responsible AI analysts and quality assurance
- Drive strong collaboration with business functional stakeholders (Gas Power Engineering, Gas Power Product Management, Gas Power Digital Technology, and GE Vernova Advanced Research), managing expectations and adjusting to evolving conditions
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business function stakeholders, translating complex concepts/features into actionable user stories/specifications
- Program Management:
- Implement best practices in program management, including resource allocation, risk management, scope changes, say-do-ratio, and quality management
- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or deviations proactively.
- Coordinate execution across multiple projects, driving shared approach and outcomes tracking
- Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and responsible AI standards in AI development and deployment
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies
- Drive the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of AI programs
- Evaluate and refine processes to optimize project outcomes and organizational value
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science from an accredited university or college.
- At least 5 years of experience in AI / Machine Learning (ML), including unsupervised learning, supervised learning, computer vision, and large language models (LLMs)
Desired Characteristics:
- Proven experience in AI program management, with a track record of successful project delivery
- Demonstrated expertise in leveraging project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organization
- Deep understanding of AI and data science with specialized focus on Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Generative AI
- Solid domain understanding of the Gas Power business, processes, and functions with specialized focus on Engineering
- Strong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies
- Advanced project management skills with experience in Agile methodologies (preferable SAFE Agile Certified)
- Experience managing budgets including budget and spend
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, capable of motivating and guiding diverse teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align AI initiatives with broader business objectives
- Genuine passion for innovation and continuous learning in the field of artificial intelligence. Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals
- Strong team player – collaborates well with others located globally to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
- Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, partners with customers to help shape future initiatives

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is: $111,200.00 - $185,400.00 USD Annual
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. This position will stay open on the career website until at least June 18th. 2025
