Excellent research and innovation are at the centre of the work of the HHI - Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications. We are a world leader in researching mobile and optical communication networks and systems, as well as machine learning, computer vision and compressing digital videos.
Since 2020, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute has worked with United Nations partners (ITU, WMO, UNEP, UNFCCC, and UPU) to support the development of international standards for the use (and development of policy around) AI in disaster management. In parallel, Fraunhofer HHI is contributing to a Working Group on Digital Transformation for Hydrology and Water Resources at the World Meteorological Organization. The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.
The monthly working time is up to 80 hours.
