Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Product Design and Research, we are looking for a Product Designer. As our new Product Designer, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to bring ideas to life through research, prototyping, and high-fidelity design. You will play a key role in crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences that align with business goals while advocating for user needs. From wireframing and interaction design to usability testing and iterative improvements, you will help create seamless digital experiences that delight our users and drive business impact.
This is a hybrid opportunity, working Tuesdays and Thursdays on-site in our downtown Toronto office. Our headquarters are located within minutes of St. Andrew and Union subway stations.
How you will make an impact:
Lead the end-to-end design process. You will own the full product design lifecycle—from concept to execution—ensuring a seamless and impactful user experience. As part of a dedicated product pod, you will collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to align design goals with business objectives. You will play a key role in shaping the product roadmap, anticipating design needs, and ensuring that user insights drive decision-making.
Design. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that bring ideas to life. You will refine and enhance features through user research, usability testing, and iterative design to optimize engagement and usability. Your work will be guided by a data-driven approach, ensuring every design decision is backed by insights and real-world user behaviour.
Maintain and evolve design standards. You will maintain and advance our design systems and component libraries, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all products. As an advocate for UX/UI best practices and accessibility standards, you will champion a user-first approach that enhances inclusivity and usability.
Continuous improvement. You will stay at the forefront of the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, continuously sharpening your skills and evolving your approach. Whether through experimentation, learning from industry leaders, or contributing to design innovation, you will help push our team and products forward.
What you bring:
The portfolio. You have experience in product or UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio that showcases your expertise in design thinking, interaction design, and visual storytelling. Your work demonstrates a deep understanding of user needs, balancing aesthetics with functionality. Whether coming from AdTech, FinTech, SaaS, or another fast-paced industry, you have experience iterating quickly, making informed decisions, and taking ownership of your deliverables.
The technical skills. You are proficient in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite. You understand design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles. Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is a plus, as it helps you collaborate more effectively with engineers. You are comfortable with user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design improvements, ensuring your decisions are informed by user behaviour and insights.
The collaborative skills. You thrive in an Agile, cross-functional environment, working closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to bring ideas to life. You are solution-oriented, open to feedback, and able to balance multiple priorities. You can pivot when needed, ensuring design aligns with business goals and user needs. You actively contribute to team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and sprint planning, bringing a problem-solving mindset to every challenge.
The interpersonal skills. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to confidently present and defend design decisions. You know how to ask the right questions, gather feedback, and translate insights into actionable design solutions. You are empathetic and value diverse perspectives, creating inclusive designs that resonate with a broad audience. Whether collaborating with leadership, advocating for users, or guiding non-design stakeholders, you know how to articulate the value of great design and align it with business outcomes.
The growth mindset. You are curious and always looking to refine your craft. You stay updated on emerging design trends, new tools, and evolving user behaviours. You look for opportunities to learn from peers, and industry leaders, as well as hands-on experiences, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in product design.
