Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Product Design and Research, we are looking for a Senior Product Designer. As our new Senior Product Designer, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to bring ideas to life through research, prototyping, and high-fidelity design. You will play a key role in crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences that align with business goals while advocating for user needs. From wireframing and interaction design to usability testing and iterative improvements, you will help create seamless digital experiences that delight our users and drive business impact.
This is a hybrid opportunity, working Tuesdays and Thursdays on-site in our downtown Toronto office. Our headquarters are located within minutes of St. Andrew and Union subway stations.
How you will make an impact:
Lead the end-to-end design process. You will own the full product design lifecycle—from concept to execution—ensuring a seamless and impactful user experience. As a senior team member of a dedicated product pod, you will collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to align design goals with business objectives. You will play a key role in shaping the product roadmap, anticipating design needs, and ensuring that user insights drive decision-making. You will assign backlog work and help to oversee and mentor junior pod members.
Design with purpose. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that transform concepts into reality. You will refine and enhance features through user research, usability testing, and iterative design to optimize engagement and usability. You will lead design sprints, workshops, and collaborative discussions, ensuring that every design decision is backed by user insights, data, and competitive analysis.
Elevate our design standards. You will evolve and maintain our design systems and component libraries, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all products. As a champion of UX/UI best practices and accessibility standards, you will drive inclusive and user-friendly experiences. You will also ensure that all design deliverables align with and reinforce the company's brand values, voice, and identity.
Data driven decision making. You will collaborate with data analysts to leverage user insights and analytics, ensuring design decisions are informed by measurable results. You will track user behavior, engagement, and feedback, using data to optimize and iterate on designs for continuous improvement.
Continuous improvement. You will stay at the forefront of the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, continuously sharpening your skills and evolving your approach. Whether through experimentation, learning from industry leaders, optimizing internal workflows, or contributing to design innovation, you will help push our team and products forward.
What you bring:
The portfolio. You have experience in product and UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio that showcases your expertise in design thinking, interaction design, and visual storytelling. Your work highlights a deep understanding of user needs, combining aesthetics with functionality. Whether coming from AdTech, FinTech, SaaS, or another fast-paced industry, you have experience iterating quickly, leading informed decision-making, and taking ownership of your deliverables.
The technical skills. You are highly proficient in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite. You are familiar with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles. You have experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, or JavaScript and can leverage your knowledge to effectively collaborate with engineers. You are comfortable leading user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design improvements, ensuring your decisions are informed by user behaviour and insights.
The collaborative skills. You thrive in an Agile, cross-functional environment, working closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to bring ideas to life. You navigate challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, balancing competing priorities. You can pivot when needed, ensuring design aligns with business goals and user needs. You lead and actively listen during team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and sprint planning, bringing a problem-solving mindset to every challenge.
The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and can guide the decisions of non-design stakeholders. You can confidently present to or collaborate with leadership, defending your design decisions, articulating their impact on business goals and user experiences. You ask thoughtful questions, gather feedback, and translate insights into actionable design improvements. Your empathetic approach ensures designs resonate with diverse audiences.
The growth mindset. You are curious and always looking to refine your craft. You stay updated on emerging design trends, new tools, and evolving user behaviours. You look for opportunities to learn from peers, and industry leaders, as well as hands-on experiences, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in product design.
